Supervisor Training
One of the most difficult transitions to make in anyone’s working life is the elevation to a Supervisory position from a base level or worker role. Often staff are elevated to Supervisory positions because they are next in line and/or they have been an effective and productive worker. The difficulty in making this transition is that two totally different skill sets are required for a base level employee and a Supervisory role.
The aim of this course is to provide the confidence and assistance in overcoming that hurdle of making the transition to a Supervisor by providing the tools and new skills. The course is also suitable for longer term Supervisors.
The course is highly interactive and challenging to the existing perceptions of what an effective Supervisor should be. The course includes (but is not restricted to) the following topics:
- Discussion based learning and exercises
- Overview of the principles of adult learning
- Use of Jargon
- The desirable outcomes of training staff
- Motivation of staff
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with workers
- Effective communication
- Work Health and Safety requirements and obligations
